SOLD OUT Leave your information at this link to be notified of future workshops
After the first iteration, lots of sharing and learning, I’m back with a new version of this practical UX Research workshop. Version 2.0. Will you join?
What is it about?
In the day-to-day work as a UX Researcher, we constantly receive new research needs that can come with different levels of clarity, from different parts of the organization, and at the same time with different objectives and timelines to carry them out.
So the challenge scenario is:
We receive a new research proposal/need, they send us a brief with basic information and request our support as UX Researchers or UX professionals (sometimes the only one in a company). It’s from this place of doubts and uncertainties that we’ll begin.
In the workshop we’ll review: How to start? What questions should I ask/ask myself? How to continue? How to choose an appropriate methodology based on this project’s needs?
What will the workshop format be like?
It will be 3 hours to successfully break down the brief and the steps that should follow this initial stage after receiving it.
We’ll meet online through Google Meet and work collaboratively in FigJam. We’ll be a small group of max 10 people (and minimum 4), so everyone has the opportunity to actively participate, ask questions, and get the most out of this space. What we’ll mostly do is think, plan, and evaluate, based on the contributions of each workshop participant.
Program
Block 1
30 min – Welcome and introduction
1 hour
- Presentation of the UX challenge/brief
- Questions about the challenge
(10-minute break)
Block 2
1 hour – Review the Plan and Methodology
20 min – Closing
Requirements?
The workshop is especially designed for those who have little experience, have had little space to work on research, and/or have a special interest in understanding user research processes (especially in the first stage - after receiving the brief).
*It’s important that you know this is not an introductory course, we won’t review methodologies themselves, I’ll assume you already know them and from there we’ll decide which one we’ll choose according to the challenge. We also won’t work on UI design.
Expected learnings
I hope from this workshop you can take away:
- Greater clarity on what questions to ask yourself when receiving a UX brief from the context you’re in.
- Knowledge of the parts of a research plan, and awareness of the risks of not having one.
- Understanding how to choose a methodology according to your context.
- A good time together with other UX colleagues.
Date and price:
Saturday, September 9, 2023: 10:00 – 13:00 Chile time (GMT-4)
The 3-hour workshop costs 15,000 Chilean pesos - 18 USD for the rest of the world.
