From Social Sciences to UX Research: Ask Me Anything
Are you a psychologist, anthropologist, sociologist, or coming from another social sciences background and thinking about transitioning into UX Research?
Over the past few weeks, several people have reached out to me with exactly this question. Some recently graduated, others with years of experience in their fields, but all with the same question: how do I break into this world?
I made that transition. I’m a clinical psychologist by training, I worked in domestic violence and private practice, and in 2018 I decided to change. Today I work as an independent, remote UX Researcher, with a quality of life I would never have achieved in clinical practice.
It wasn’t an obvious path. There wasn’t much information in Spanish, let alone from the perspective of someone from the social sciences. That’s why I want to open up this space.
